The corrections below are necessary for the first printing (March-May 2018). The second printing (June 2018) incorporates all of these corrections.

Two important corrections

1. Reference list page 240 – Despite her major influence on this book, and seven in-text references, I failed to include Linda Shockey’s ground-breaking book of 2003 in the reference list. Mea culpa. Addition to page 240 therefore: Shockey, L. (2003). Sound patterns of spoken English. Oxford: Blackwell.
2. Page 214, Table 24.1 – YouGlish activity – this needs to be replaced by the worksheets here.
